Denise van Outen in 'great place' after sparking romance with 'businessman' (2025)

Denise van Outen is said to have found love again after bonding with a businessman named Adam Butler - three years after heartbreaking end of her engagement to Eddie Boxshall

Denise van Outen may have a happy summer ahead of her as it has been claimed she is embarking on a new romance. The 50-year-old TV icon has been somewhat unlucky-in-love - having divorced singer Lee Mead in 2015 after six years of marriage and then having her heart torn up by Gogglebox fiancé Eddie Boxshall in 2022.

Her most recent relationship was with dashing property developer Jimmy Barba which amicably ended in 2023 after several months of dating. But now it is reported she has been enjoying a string of dates with businessman Adam Butler.

The Big Breakfast legend has been lapping up some sunshine in the Maldives on a work trip as she has been DJ-ing there - and it is believed that Adam has joined her for some fun in the sun. The duo are also said to have enjoyed a romantic night at the Akira Black restaurant in London last month.

It is reported that Denise had been enjoying the single life following her split from Jimmy in November 2023 but is now feeling happy to be back in the dating game. The fact that Adam is successful in his own right is said to be working in the favour of the relationship.

A source has told The Sun: "Denise loved being single and has been so busy with her TV work and DJ-ing but Adam is someone she’s enjoyed spending time with.

“They went public last month on a date at Akira Black in the Mandarin Oriental in London. Denise then had a DJ gig in the Maldives and Adam went with her."

The source went on to claim Adam has been helping mend Denise's bruised heart and they are having a whale of a time together. They added: “She is in a great place in her life. Her career is soaring and Adam is a successful businessman, so they compliment each other so well.

“All of Denise’s friends are thrilled she has found someone like Adam, he treats her like a queen.” The Mirror has contacted Denise's spokesperson for comment.

Denise has been working and staying at the Velassaru Maldives resort - which describes itself as a private five star island resort. On Friday, the TV star took to Instagram and shared a highlights reel of her time in the sun-soaked hotel.

She wrote alongside her footage: "Thank you for the memories. Cannot fault this beautiful resort. I was booked to DJ for a beach party but I loved the island so much I extended my trip by an extra couple of days.

"Every cuisine you can think of, delicious cocktails, water sports, luxurious spa ….. they have it all! Special thanks to CJ & Sharon for making my trip so special. I can’t wait to return." She added: "Bonus- this island is only 25minutes by boat from Malé airport …. So easy."

Denise and Jimmy broke up over a year ago - but the couple said it was an mutual decision. Denise said in November 2023: “We have decided to part ways but we remain great friends and our families and children are still in touch.”

The pair had previously ben introduced by All Saints singer Shaznay Lewis who was a mutual friend of the pair - with Denise reportedly relieved that she didn't need to vet him in advance. Jimmy helped Denise move on after Gogglebox star Eddie Boxshall admitted he sent sexts to other women behind his back.

Opening up about her relationships, she previously said: “Obviously those things weren’t nice to go through, but where I’m at now with Jimmy, who has such a good energy, everything was worth it. Honestly, I feel like I’m in a nice, happy, good place. I wouldn’t change anything.”
