These Secret Characters come equipped with unique, over-the-top starting weapons and attributes that quickly make them some of the most memorable Characters in Vampire Survivors, but you should be prepared to tackle widely varying tasks to add them to your roster.
This guide will identify all of the Secret Characters in Vampire Survivors, as of update 0.6.1, outline how you can unlock each of them, and provide some brief notes on each Character.

Exdash Exiviiq
Exdash's starting weapon is Ebony Wings and as Exdash's official description fittingly reads, "At least they're lucky". Exdash's stats are far from ideal as he sees decreases in various statistical categories including a major hit to his Max Health and Projectile Speed. Despite his numerous nerfs, Exdash isn't completely useless as his heightened Luck boosts the respawn rate of light sources, increases the odds of landing critical hits, and more.
Unlocking Exdash is also a prerequisite for unlocking his ill-fated ghostly sibling, Toastie.

Luck | +100% |
How to Unlock Exdash
In order to unlock Exdash, you'll need to type the sequence, "x-x1viiq" while on the Vampire Survivors Main Menu. This may take a few attempts to complete, but when typed correctly and at a stable pace, you'll hear a sound effect to let you know you've successfully unlocked Exdash. Exdash will now appear on your Character Selection screen and you will not need to spend any coins to make them playable.
If you have continued issues while trying to unlock Exdash, consider restarting your game before retyping, "x-x1viiq" in the Main Menu.
Toastie
Toastie's starting weapon is the Peachone and their base stats give them a measly 1 HP to start off each round. But if you manage to get this fragile Character to Level 100+ they'll see a massive increase in Max Health with another insane boost to their Armor kicking in past Level 200.

Like Exdash, Toastie sees numerous enhancements due to his high Luck stats.

How to Unlock Toastie
Before you follow any of the steps below, note that you must unlock Exdash before unlocking Toastie. Completing all of these steps prior to unlocking Exdash will be a wasted effort and it'll fail to unlock this Character. To unlock Toastie you must defeat either the Stalker or the Drowner, both of these enemies are differently colored variants of Death that will only appear on a couple of maps.
Immediately after defeating the Stalker or the Drowner, Toastie will briefly appear on the bottom right corner of your screen and you'll need to press the down arrow key and Enter key before Toastie leaves. Make sure to prepare yourself to press these keys as Toastie only appears for a split second which can be difficult to hit especially if you're using the Pentagram which could eliminate the Stalker at any time.
The Stalker and Drowner are special enemies that can only be defeated in a few unique ways since they're invulnerable to nearly all of your weapons. Below you'll find information on what you'll need to do to take down these seemingly unkillable ghouls.
The Stalker
The Stalker is a green variant of Death that will only appear on the stages, Dairy Plant and The Bone Zone. But just because you load into these two stages doesn't necessarily mean you're guaranteed to encounter the Stalker. In the Dairy Plant, the Stalker has a 1% chance of spawning at the beginning of your run and a 30% chance of spawning at the 8-minute mark and the 12-minute mark. If the clock ticks past the 12-minute mark and the Stalker is nowhere in sight, they will not appear at any other point so feel free to abandon your run and try again.
Because of this uncertainty, the better option is to take on the Stalker in The Bone Zone stage, where the green Grim Reaper will spawn at the 10-minute mark 100% of the time.
The Stalker can only be killed by the Pentagram, Gorgeous Moon, Infinite Corridor, and Crimson Shroud weapons, by the Rosary floor loot item, or by the minecarts scattered throughout the Dairy Plant stage (one hit). If you take longer than a few minutes to kill the Stalker they'll disappear and they will not respawn a second time even if they spawn early on in a round.

The Drowner
The Drowner is the blue variant of Death that will only appear on the stages, Gallo Tower and The Bone Zone. The Drowner can spawn in Gallo Tower at the 25-minute mark but if you don't see them, feel free to reset your run because even though the Drowner will join the fray at the 30-minute mark, they'll be unkillable at this time. Meanwhile, the Drowner will always spawn at the 20-minute mark in The Bone Zone.
As their name implies, the Drowner is accompanied by rising waters that fill from the bottom of the stage. If the water rises to meet you it'll inflict 20 damage per tick.
The Drowner can only be defeated by the Rosary pick-up item or the Gorgeous Moon, Infinite Corridor, and Crimson Shroud weapons. Unlike their green counterpart, the Drowner will not be eliminated by the Pentagram.
Boon Marrabbio
Marrabbio's starting weapon is the evolution Thousand Edge, but it comes with a unique twist due to Marrabbio's incredibly low starting Projectile Speed. Marrabbio's Thousand Edge initially shoots in the opposite direction but this can be changed by increasing your Projectile Speed stats either in-game or by purchasing Speed PowerUps. Because Marrabbio has a significant Greed nerf, avoid using this character if you're looking to complete a Coin-centric Achievement.
Marrabbio Starting Stats | |
---|---|
Category | Base Stats |
Max Health | 120 (+20) |
MoveSpeed | +30% |
Might | +20% |
Speed | -110% |
Greed | -80% |
Curse | +10% |
How to Unlock Marrabbio
To unlock Marrabbio, load into the Mad Forest and collect the Pummarola and Skull O'Maniac passive items. It doesn't seem to matter whether these items are collected as floor loot or as Level Up selections, but because they can appear infrequently in Level Up screens, you should make your way towards these items by using the Milky Way Map Relic as a guide.
After you've collected both items, a trail of Pies will spawn near your character. Follow and consume the Pies and they'll lead you to a specific quadrant of the map where a shadowy boss will be waiting to take you on.

If you lose the Pie trail and have the Milky Way Map, work your way west of the Hollow Heart item and north of Metaglio Left to find the mysterious boss.
Defeat the shadowy boss and you'll hear a sound effect to indicate you've unlocked Marrabbio and you can purchase them for 1665 Coins whenever you return to the Character Selection screen.
Leda
Leda is one of just two bosses that becomes a playable character after you defeat them. Leda's starting weapon is the Holy Wand, and though limited by their MoveSpeed, Leda packs a punch and has a significant Armor boost.
Leda Starting Stats | |
---|---|
Category | Base Stats |
Max Health | 100 |
Armor | +5 |
MoveSpeed | -20% |
Might | +100% |
Area | +10% |
Cooldown | -10% |
Greed | -80% |
How to Unlock Leda
To unlock Leda, load into the Gallo Tower stage and defeat Leda.
To find Leda in the Gallo Tower, travel to the south for what will undoubtedly feel like a frustrating length of time. As you near Leda's spawn location, the stage will become darker and darker until your visibility is drastically reduced. Leda has a very large health pool but his lack of speed makes him a fairly easy target to take down as long as you can avoid taking damage from the enemies emerging from the shadows.
Be careful not to step on the floor traps while walking in the dark.

Mask of the Red Death
Red Death's starting weapon is Death Spiral, they're by far the tankiest Character in the game, and they also have the highest MoveSpeed. Because of these attributes, you should always consider using Red Death when trying to earn Achievements or when trying to assemble Evolved Weapons that require you to find floor loot such as the Infinite Corridor and Crimson Shroud.
Red Death Starting Stats | |
---|---|
Category | Base Stats |
Max Health | 255 (+155) |
MoveSpeed | +100% |
Might | +20% |
How to Unlock Red Death
Red Death can be unlocked by defeating them at the end of a round.
Though it may seem impossible, there are various loadouts and strategies capable of chunking down Red Death's over 600,000 Health. The most reliable is option is arguably the combination of the Infinite Corridor and Crimson Shroud. The Crimson Shroud caps all incoming damage at 10 HP per hit which greatly mitigates the Red Death's otherwise unsurvivable damage output. While the Infinite Corridor's damage output is so powerful that it's capable of killing Red Death after two full attack sequences.
Still, if you pair either of these immensely powerful Evolved Weapons with a few Revivals and a high damage loadout, you should be able to take Red Death down. Though his initial weapon isn't the best, you can also consider using Krochi when trying to defeat Red Death since his passive grants him a free Revival.
Again, there are various loadouts that can defeat Red Death so don't limit your creativity and consider the following options before you enter your runs:
- Crimson Shroud + High-Level Clock Lancet (unevolved) + Revivals
- Clerici + Runetracer in the Inlaid Library
White Death
Though Red Death may seem like Vampire Survivors' final boss, if you manage to win the grueling battle against Death you'll face off with... several Red Deaths. And if again you emerge victorious, the screen will slowly zoom in as a clock tower ominously chimes.

When the screen stops zooming in White Death will appear to end your run, no matter what. White Death is unkillable, seemingly takes no damage and they'll kill you in a single attack.
